Banana is the default “creamy” ingredient, but plenty of people can’t stand the taste. A quarter of an avocado does the same job with no flavor of its own, and Greek yogurt adds tang and protein.

Ingredients

1 serving

You’ll need: Blender

Method

  1. Add the almond milk, yogurt and avocado to the blender.

  2. Add the berries and honey.

  3. Blend on high for 45-60 seconds until silky.

Tips

  • Other banana swaps: frozen mango, ½ cup frozen cauliflower rice, ¼ cup oats or 2 tablespoons chia seeds.

  • Freeze leftover avocado in quarters for next time.

Make it ahead

Pack the solid ingredients (fruit, greens, seeds, oats) into a freezer bag and freeze for up to 3 months. In the morning, tip the bag into the blender, add the liquid and yogurt, and blend. A blended smoothie keeps in a sealed jar in the fridge for up to 24 hours; shake before drinking. More on smoothie freezer packs.
